  • Central Sierra Helicopter Meet 2010 Information

Nancy and Hap Miller, along with their family are bringing the fifth annual CENTRAL SIERRA HELICOPTER MEET, being held April 30 - MAY 1st & 2nd,
near Yosemite and close to Groveland, California.
    N37° 49.757'; W120° 0.129'

NOTE: Bring your parts and pieces to sell at the aviation Swap Meet held during the meet.

The event will be on about 150 meadow acres, private property off highway 120 (N37° 49.757'; W120° 0.129') , not far from the Groveland Airport, also known as Pine Mountain Lake Airport (E45) .

Check out the TerraServer-USA site for map details

DIRECTIONS: Go to Groveland, California (northeast of Merced, off route 99). Take Hwy. 120 for approximately 14 miles East of Groveland to Cherry Lake Rd, turn left onto Cherry Lake Road; go approximately 2.6 miles. The Ranch is on the Left.

FLYING IN?: From Groveland airport fly approximately 9 to 10 miles eastward (about 102°), keeping the large electrical lines about 1/2 mile to your right. (Note: we have not flown this route, but took the info from Delome's latest mapping software and reports from pilots who have flown the route.)

Focus of the meet is Homebuilt and Experimental Helicopters of all kinds. From what we hear, there shall be rotorcraft of many types, both experimental and certified. BRING YOUR SHIP AND SHARE IDEAS.

Stu is presenting information about rotor balancing and balancers. There will be a range of flying events and raffles.

Dry camping is on site and well placed away from arriving aircraft. Ranch water is to die for and current weather forcast is getting a lot better . Motels and restaurants are within a few minutes drive. Fast food will be available for sale and the Millers are planning a bbq or banquet on Saturday night.

You can fly into the restaurant at Groveland Airport, Groveland Airport, also known as Pine Mountain Lake Airport (E45) . Groveland and the surrounding area is "helicopter meet friendly".
